What does the campus policy say?
According to the systemwide UC Information Technology Accessibility Policy, all electronic assets should be accessible to people with disabilities, including those who use assistive technologies. This means:
- UC will strive to have its websites meet the WCAG 2.0 level AA standards (for a better understanding of these standards, see WebAIM's WCAG 2.0 checklist and the W3C's How to Meet WCAG 2.0).
- UC will place the most emphasis on new purchases and new development, as that will have the most lasting effect.
- Each campus in the UC system can devise its own strategy to implement the policy, and create an organizational infrastructure to train, purchase, and develop to ensure accessibility.
